MORISSET, Jean-Paul Peacefully on December 21st 2008 at Hopital de Verdun, at the age of 80, surrounded by his loved ones. Predeceased by his parents, Gerard Morisset and Marguerite Mignault, his brother Denys and his sister Odile Morisset-Pineda. Survived by his beloved partner Francoise Daigneault, his children Catherine (David Shugar), Daniele, Luc Emmanuel (Coleen Besserer), Veronique and Natalie, and by his friend and former spouse Marie-Andree Lalonde, as well as nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. His career began at the Musee du Quebec, where, alongside his father, he contributed to the Quebec Inventaire des oeuvres d'art, including as a photographer. He then worked in Ottawa as the National Gallery's Director of External Services, then as an editor for the University of Ottawa Press. He was also a translator, an editor and a gentleman farmer. Jean-Paul had a great love of life and an appreciation for all its beauty. His easy smile and his enthusiasm will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial gathering in his honour will be held on Saturday afternoon, January 10th 2009 from 2 until 4 at the Salons of Beechwood Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Street, Ottawa. All are welcome to share in a celebration of his life.
