KING, Janet Romanson Grosskleg Peacefully at the Ottawa Heart Institute on Monday, January 3, 2011 in her 96th year. Loving wife of the late Carl Grosskleg. Predeceased by stepsons Gordon (Emily), Mervin (Rita), and Elmer (Geneva). Survived by stepdaughters Evelyn (Edmund and Edwin), Elaine (Earl) and Vera (Ross). Dear mother of Karl (Judy), Harry, Terry, and Clare (Gordon), foster mother to the late Pat Donahue, Dennis Donahue and Joanne Donahue. Loving wife of the late Peter King and mother to Bill (Carm) King and Barbara King. Survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Esther, Julie, Bill, and predeceased by Marion, Jack, Anne and Pete. Born in Hodgson, Manitoba, she was the daughter of the late John Romanson and Anna Halayko. Janet loved rose gardening and was very active in charitable work for the Roman Catholic Church, serving as President of the Legion of Mary, and received the Governor General's Caring Canadian Award. Always on the go, she attended Carleton University while a senior citizen and received a degree in Russian Translation and Religion. Special thanks to the medical and support teams at the Ottawa Heart Institute. Family and friends may pay their respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 3000 Woodroffe Avenue, Barrhaven, Thursday, January 6th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Friday to Blessed Sacrament Church, 194 Fourth Avenue, Ottawa, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Pinecrest Cemetery. Either flowers or donations to the Legion of Mary, Senatus of Ontario would be appreciated.
