HENDRY, Dr. James McLeod (Veteran of World War II) Peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Queensway Carleton Hospital with his family by his side. Born August 18, 1919 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Beloved husband of Shirley Agnes Hendry (nee Weatherby) for 55 years. Treasured father of James (Virginia), Paul (Pamela), Graeme (Shawnda) and Scott (Trina). Proud and loved grandfather of Michael (Jessica), David, Alana, Callum, Maryn, Angelica and Nora. He will be greatly missed by Barbara Kincaid, mother of Michael and David, and his sister, Barbara Goodman (Halifax). Predeceased by sister Phyllis McDonald. He leaves a rich legacy having proudly served his country as Lieutenant Commander, Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve from 1939-45. A brilliant legal scholar, BA and LLB (Dalhousie), LLM (Harvard), LLM and SJD (Michigan), an accomplished professor of law (Dalhousie and Ottawa) and an esteemed public servant (National Energy Board). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Lung Association. Memorial Service will be held at St. John's Anglican Church, 325 Sandhill Rd., Kanata on Monday, February 2, 2009 at 1 p.m. Condolences, tributes or donations may be made at www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com
