Quincy James Michael Reddy passed away on June 3, 2008. James was born in MA to Ralph J. and Joan M. (Mac Innis). He was baptized, had his First Holy Communion and Confirmation at Sacred Heart Church in North Quincy, MA. He was educated in the Quincy School system and graduated from North Quincy High School in 1973. He entered the U.S. Army and had a break in service. He was a Vietnam Era Veteran and received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon and Parachute Badge, foreign awards from the from the Federal Republic of Germany include Schutzenschnur Bronze (shooting), Fallschirmspringer Bronze (Parachutists Badge). James also was a bridge crane operator for General Dynamics Shipbuilding Division in Quincy and for the West End Iron Works in Cambridge, MA. Upon leaving the Army again, he settled in El Paso, TX. In 1985, he started working for the El Paso County Sheriff' s Office. He graduated from the Peace Officer's Academy in 1988 and was assigned to the Patrol Division. In 1997, he was promoted to Deputy Sergeant in the Patrol Division. James was a member of American Legion Eastwood Post 36. Several letters of Recognition, Citation Professionalism, Caleq Certified Master Peace Officer. He is preceded in death by parents, Ralph J. and Joan M. Reddy. Survived by Joanne MacFarlane, Carol Flynn, both of Quincy and Robert Flynn of Holbrook, MA, Joseph Mac Innis of VT, Chuck Mac Innis of CA, Ralph Peterson of OH, Tony and Joan Daiute of NY and several cousins throughout the states. Jimmy also has many close friends, Rueben Avelar and other co-workers in El Paso, TX. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Church, N. Quincy. Visiting hour prior to the Funeral Mass from 10-11:00 a.m. in the Lydon Chapel for Funerals, 644 Hancock St., Quincy. Interment Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
