Obituary of James-Hosea Ballard

James was a native of Madison County and the son of the late Lemuel and Cora Buckner Ballard. He was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church, US Army veteran and a retired power engineer of BASF. Mr. Ballard is survived by his wife of 52 years June Hensley Ballard; daughters, Lisa Gray (Steve)and Lori Miller (Jamie); son John William Ballard (Elise); sister, Ora Ballard Fender; brothers, Ronald and Donald Ballard; grandchildren, David Ballard, Tyler Gray, Brianna and Ahnika Miller, several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Locust Grove Baptist Church, Weaverville, NC. Rev. H. L. Wilson, Rev. Doctor Harry Culbertson and Rev. Ben Whitmire will officiate. Sunday school class members will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in the church cemetery . The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 3:00 at the church prior to the service.
