Obituary of James-F. Cleary

CLEARY James F. Cleary, Jr., age 49, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Mary Lynn Cleary, died suddenly on Tuesday, March 13, 2014. He was a graduate of Stratford High School and after high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Jim was employed by the Connecticut Post newspaper, a job that he truly enjoyed. He was loved by all of his customers and greeted them each morning with a smile and a wave. Jim also had worked in tree care for Cleary's Tree Removal. He was a talented musician and artist and loved fishing. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his parents, James and Linda Cleary of Stratford; one son, Robert Thayer; one step-daughter, Jessica Smith of Shelton; two brothers, Stephen Cleary and his wife, Donna, and David Cleary, all of Stratford; two nieces, Amber and Lena Marie Cleary; and two nephews, Steve Cleary, Jr. and Joey Cleary. Friends may call on Monday from 4 - 8 pm at the Pistey Funeral Home, 2155 Main Street, Stratford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Andrew G. Marus on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 10:00 am DIRECTLY at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1950 Barnum Ave., Stratford. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Jimmy Cleary memorial fund @ any People's United Bank.
