Obituary of James R. Eisenhauer


James R. Eisenhauer -->James Robert Eisenhauer, 90 years of age, passed away at the home of his niece, Sharon Carr, in Holbrook, Friday, March 13, 2015. He was born in Medford and had been a lifetime resident of Braintree. Jim graduated from Braintree High School, Class of 1943. Eleven days after graduating from high school he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. Jim served during World War II and the Korean conflict. After his military service he took college courses at Boston State College and Massasoit College. He was a retired telephone repairman for New England Telephone Company principally in Randolph, Braintree, Weymouth, Hingham, Cohasset and Scituate. He belonged to the Telephone Pioneers. He was an active member of the Braintree community for many years. He was a communicant of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish and a member of Braintree Council Knights of Columbus 1462. He was a past Commander of the American Legion Post 86 and a member the VFW in Braintree. Jim was a past Commander of the Braintree Veterans Council. He was an active member of the Braintree Mens Club. He was also a member of the Braintree High School Reunion Committee. He had been a coach for Saint Francis of Assisi CYO Basketball and Baseball Leagues. He enjoyed traveling and had traveled to Hawaii thirty times. He also traveled to a number of European countries three times. Jim was the brother of the late Virginia M. Prario formerly of Braintree, Shirley L. White formerly of Norwell, Jeanne L. Brown formerly of Scituate and Paul K. Eisenhauer formerly of Marlboro, who is survived by his wife, Mary. He is survived by seventeen nieces and nephews. He was the uncle of the late R. Brian Prario. Visiting hours will be at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington St., Braintree, Monday, March 16, from 4 to 8 p.m. There will be a gathering at the funeral home Tuesday, March 17, at 9:30 a.m. prior to a funeral Mass at Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington Street, South Braintree Square, at 10:30 a.m. His nephew Reverend Kevin White, S.J. will be the principal celebrant. Burial will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
