Obituary of John-Mathew McCartney

JOHN (JACK) MATHEW McCARTNEY With very heavy hearts, the family of John (Jack) Mathew McCartney announce his passing on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at Henderson-Juravinski Hospital. Jack was born on August 4, 1929 and raised in the east end of Toronto. He was the well-known co-owner of Spence & McCartney Ltd. printing company and Goldline Advertising Art Calendars. Jack will be deeply missed by his loving family: wife Beverley; children Lynn, Melanie, Peter; grandchildren Allyshia, Andrew, Mitchell, Paul, Gregory; father- in-law of Fred, Jeffrey, Tom; and brother Bob. Jack was predeceased by his parents Maria and William and son David. Jack has touched the hearts of many friends and family near and far, in addition to his great- grandfur babies. A special thank you to Dr. Lori Coman-Wood and all of her staff. Lori, you are an irreplaceable angel. Your love and constant support over the years has been a bright spot in Jack's life. The family wishes to also acknowledge his team of doctors and their dedicated staff, who have provided him with excellent care over the years. Visitations will take place at Glen Oaks Funeral Home, 3164 Ninth Line, Oakville, ON, 905-257-8822, on Saturday, March 14, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. and Sunday, March 15th from 2-3 p.m. The celebration of life service will be held Sunday, March 15, 2015 at 3 p.m. at Glen Oaks Funeral Home Chapel at the above location. The family will also host a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
