Obituary of James J. Norton


James J. NortonBraintree James J. Norton of Braintree formerly of Dorchester and Washington, D.C. died on Sunday, November 11, 2007, at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. He was 77 years of age and was born in South Boston. Jim was a retired president of the Graphic Communications International Union, Vice President of the National AFL CIO Executive Board and former Chairman of the Boston Federal Reserve Bank Board. Late member of the Knights of Columbus. He also coached hockey and baseball teams in Dorchester when his children were participating. Loving husband of Patricia A. (Tuley) Norton. Proud father of James F. Norton of Braintree, Ann Marie Norton of South Boston, Robert W. and his wife Teresa Norton of Braintree, Thomas P. and his wife Patricia Norton of Braintree, Donald T. and his wife Katherine Norton of Braintree, David T. and his wife Cindy Norton of Quincy and Brian J. and his wife Gillian Norton of Sandwich. Devoted grandfather of eighteen grandchildren. Brother of Sr. Mary Theresa Norton S.S.J. of Milton and Noreen Kelley of Dorchester. Brother in law of Sr. Margaret Tuley D.C. Funeral from the SOUTH WEYMOUTH McDonald Funeral Home at 809 Main St. (Rte 18 opposite South Shore Hospital) Friday at 9:30 A.M. Funeral Mass in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington St., Braintree at 10:30 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting Hrs. Wednesday evening from 7 9 P.M. and Thursday from 24 and 79 P.M.
