RICHARDS, IRVIN ARTHURIrvin was born in Kerrobert, SK on September 9, 1922 and passed away in Prince Albert, SK on August 4, 2014. Irvin was predeceased by his wife Frances, of 68 years, in February 2014. Irvin is survived by his son Allan (Kenda) Richards of Regina, SK, his daughter Anne Moeller, of Prince Albert, SK; his grandchildren, Lindsay Richards (Lincoln Flanagan) and children Emilia and Jack; Logan Richards; Jason (Ruth) Moeller and children Cassie and Yvette; Stacy Moeller and daughter Willow and many nieces and nephews. Irvin grew up in the Tako district, attended Tako School and farmed with his father until 1945 when he married Frances Clark. They had a brief stint at farming before Irvin began work with the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool living and moving to various farm communities before settling in Prince Albert in the 1950s. Irvin worked for Saskatchewan Wheat Pool for 21 years. He left the Wheat Pool and bought a small farm at Christopher Lake where he farmed until Frances retired from teaching. Irvin was an avid sportsman, particularly enjoying fishing and the outdoor experience of living in the North. He built cottages at Cochin, Greenwater and finally at Little Bear Lake and taught his children and grandchildren to love northern Saskatchewan. He loved to skate, ski, play ball and hockey and served as president of the local ski club in Prince Albert in the 1960s, and helped build several of the early "rope tows". Irvin and Frances retired to their cottage at Little Bear Lake and a home at Bull Head City, Arizona, where they spent many happy years entertaining friends and family. They loved to travel and covered much of North America from Mexico to the Arctic. They relocated to Saskatoon in their 70s and remained active, skating, walking, visiting family and friends and volunteering with numerous organizations. In recent years, both Irvin and Frances became residents of the Herb Bassett Home in Prince Albert. Their friends and family will always remember them as Fran and Irv, more than a couple, a devoted loving pair. Respecting Irvin's wishes, the family will hold a Private Memorial at Little Bear Lake.
