Obituary of Henry-Edward Alley

H. E. "Bill" Alley SPARTANBURG, SC-- Henry Edward "Bill" Alley, 74, of Spartanburg, died Monday, October 5, 2009, at his home. Born February 2, 1935, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Floyd A. and Bertha Davis Alley. A 1954 graduate of Spartanburg High School, he attended Clemson University, retired from Spartanburg County School District 7 after 28 years of service, and was formerly employed at Harley Bag Company. He was a charter member of Morningside Baptist Church. Survivors include a brother, James R. Alley and his wife Myra of Moore; a sister, Betty A. Miller and her husband John of Spartanburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, David Richard "Doc" Alley, Fred Hamilton Alley, and Floyd Alexander Alley, Jr.; and two sisters, Iola A. Jackson and Lila A. Brunson. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 8, 2009, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Dr. Kirk H. Neely. The family is at the home.
