Obituary of Helen-Sue Wilkinson

Graveside services for Mrs. Helen Sue Ozley Wilkinson, 84, formerly of Lineville, Alabama, will be held Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Randolph Memory Gardens with the Rev. Rick Talley officiating. Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 15, 2010. Mrs. Wilkinson died Sunday, September 12, 2010, at Randolph Medical Center in Roanoke, Alabama. Mrs. Wilkinson was born, January 13, 1926, in Standing Rock, Alabama to Robert Olin Ozley Sr. and Corrie Pitts Ozley. She grew up in Rock Mills, Alabama but lived her adult married life in Lineville. She taught kindergarten and pre-school children from 1961 until her retirement. Teaching children was her greatest enjoyment and her calling in life. She also loved working in her yard, growing all types of flowers, and enjoyed trips looking for arrowheads. She was a member of Lineville United Methodist church, where she sang in the choir. She is survived by her son, Ernest Wilkinson Jr. and wife, Monta, of Roanoke; grandchildren, Melissa Wilkinson, of Roanoke, Trae Wilkinson and wife, Tamela, of Roanoke, and Bill Wilkinson and wife, Siri, of Rohoboth Beach, Del.; great-grandchildren, Trent and Tori Wilkinson, of Roanoke. Mrs. Wilkinson is also survived by one brother, Rev. John Ozley and wife, Talitha, of Covington, Ga. and one sister, Mavis Sparks Karr, of Valdosta, Ga. along with several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wilkinson was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Wilkinson Sr.; her parents; two brothers, Olin Ozley Jr. and Norman Ozley; and one sister, Doris Ozley Towler. Pallbearers are Trae Wilkinson, Bill Wilkinson, Trent Wilkinson, John Sparks, Stephen Sparks and Roger White.
