<!-- FH = Greenlawn Funeral Home North -->Helen Mae ReedHelen Mae Reed, 93, of Springfield, Mo., passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2011, after a lengthy illness, with her loving family by her bedside. She had been residing at Manor Care, and her family offers thanks for the special care she received from the staff. Helen was born June 18, 1918, to Aubrey and Leora Criger. She married Henry Elwyn Reed on April 9, 1937, and to their union five children were born. Helen is survived by her children, Richard Elwyn and wife Carolyn of Springfield, Mo., Robert Warren and wife Pat of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., Mary Sue (Reed) Baker of Springfield, Mo., Rodney Michael and wife Kate of Highland, Califo., and Ronald Philip and wife Patty of Grand Terrace, Calif., one sister, Dorothy Knight; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two step- grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; two sisters; and three grandchildren. Helen was a homemaker and loving mother. She was saved at Dale Street Methodist Church and baptized in Pythian Avenue Baptist Church. She was a lifetime member of the Cox Auxiliary serving 15 active years. Visitation will be held Friday, September 23, 2011 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
