Obituary of Helen-Frances Kearney


Helen Frances Kearney, 93, died Nov, 6, 2009. She was born in Mamaroneck, N.Y., and lived in Port St. Luice for 37 years, coming from Mineola, N.Y. She was a business arts teacher, past and founding president of the Ladies of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America of St. Lucie Catholic Church. Survivors include her daughter, Rose Kearney-Nunnery of Hilton Head, S.C.; sister, Jonath Morrow of Highland Beach; and brother, John Oprandy of Stuart. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, James J. Kearney. Memorial contributions may be made to Dogs and Cats Forever of Port St. Lucie at dogsandcatsforever.com. Services: Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Nov. 10 at Forest Hills-Byrd, Young & Prill Funeral Home in Port St. Lucie. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 11 at St. Lucie Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. A guest book may be signed at foresthills funerals.com.
