Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Horton's Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Chapel for Hank Hunter, 55, Gadsden, who went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 31, 2010. The Rev. Tommy Green and the Rev. Starrett Green will officiate. Burial will follow at Hebron Cemetery in Centre. Horton's Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Chapel is in charge.Mr. Hunter was of the Baptist faith. He worked at Winn-Dixie in Rainbow City. Hank was a loving and dedicated father and Poppa to his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his ability to make people laugh. Mr. Hunter was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Hunter; and brother, Kenneth Hunter.He is survived by his son, Adam Hunter; daughter, Shannon Hunter; children's mother, Jane Mattingly; grandchildren, Nariah Hunter and Brayson Hunter; mother, Maxie Hunter; sisters, Delores Kelley, Juanda (Tim) Barnes and Melinda (Charlie) Gwin; brothers, Leon (Phyllis) Hunter, Donny (Sherree) Hunter, Wendell (Pam) Hunter and Jacky Hunter; and a host of nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be Wayne Whitlock, Rickey Hunter, Josh Cantrell, David Duke, Scott Corbin and Don Pigott.Special thanks to Oakley Patterson, RN, and Bernita Collett, RN, in the MICU at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Goodyear Heights Baptist Church for the Hank Hunter memorial fund.The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 tonight at the funeral home.
