Obituary of Grace-G. Bates


Grace G. Batesof Johnson CityGrace G. (Conklin, Krissel, Palmer) Bates, 96, passed away on June 12, 2004 at the James G. Johnston Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Bates; son, Donald Krissel; brother, George Conklin; and sister, Jessie Emery. She is survived by her children, Oscar and Lola Krissel, Conklin, Geraldine Krissel, Endwell, and Lynn Palmer, Glen Aubry. Grace leaves behind twelve grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. She also leaves sisters, Ruby DiOrio, and Aleen and Steve Menta; special cousin, Ronald and Dorothy Pipher; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was a professional baker employed at Wilson Memorial Hospital for many years. She was a member of the Conklin Avenue First Baptist Church.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton, with Pastor Chip Northup officiating. Burial will be private at Spring Forest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the DeMunn Funeral Home Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of James G. Johnston Nursing Home for their special care and love. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made in Grace's name to Conklin Avenue First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 91 Baldwin Street, Binghamton, N.Y. 13903 would be appreciated.
