George Robert "Bob" Galvin, 84, a lifelong Jersey City, N.J., resident, died Aug. 27, 2011, at his home. Visitation is on Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Greenville Memorial Home, 374 Danforth Ave., Jersey City, N.J. Everyone will meet at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 14 Greenville Ave., Jersey City, on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, for Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, N.J. No viewing at the funeral home Saturday morning. The son of the late Mary (McGuire) and Martin B. Galvin, Mr. Galvin was a bus driver for Transport of New Jersey for 39 years before retiring. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and Korea and a member of his local VFW post. He was the beloved husband of the late Bridget Maureen O'Shaughnessy Galvin; devoted father of Sinon and his wife, Carolyn Brown Galvin; loving grandfather of Sarah, Connor and Alanna, and dear brother of Dorothy Galvin LaReaux and the late Martin Galvin.
