Obituary of Frank Cauz


Frank Cauz, 75, of Chester, N.J., the loving husband of Frances Artes Cauz, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2012, from complications of Parkinson's disease, with his beloved wife and devoted children at his side. Viewing will take place on Saturday, April 7, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Rd., Chester, N.J. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 9, at St. Lawrence R.C. Church in Chester, N.J., followed by burial at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, N.J. For directions and/or to express condolences, visit www.williamjleberfh.com. Frank was born on Dec. 27, 1936, in New Brunswick, N.J. In 1955 he graduated from Perth Amboy High School, and during his early career was employed as a sheet metal mechanic and then as an electrical draftsman. Frank and Frances were married on Oct. 3, 1959. For close to 40 years the couple made their home and raised their family in Cranford, N.J., until 1999, when they moved to Chester, N.J. After 23 years of working in sales and management, Frank retired from Sears Roebuck in 1992. Frank was a parishioner of St. Lawrence Church in Chester. He enjoyed family vacations in Maine and Vermont, riverboat cruises and some travel abroad. He was also a loyal New York Giants fan. Above all, he will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Frank is survived by Frances, his wife of 52 years; his devoted children, Laura Cauz Laurita and her husband, James, of Mendham, N.J., and Martin A. Cauz and his wife, Kathleen, of Kinnelon, N.J.; his cherished and adored grandchildren, Anne Catherine and Mary Caroline Laurita, and Benjamin A. and Daniel J. Cauz, and his sister, Angeles Cauz Lopez. Additional survivors include his sister-in-law, Carmen Cauz, and brother-in-law, Robert Lopez, as well as nieces, nephews and their families. Frank was predeceased by his parents, Benigno and Carmen Pena Cauz; brother, Celestino Cauz, and three sisters, Saturnina Cauz, Saturnina Cauz Lopez and Maria Teresa Cauz Kratzar.
