Obituary of Emmett-Eugene Howard


US Navy Veteran SARDIS, Ga. - Mr. Emmett Eugene Howard, age 65 of Tom Bargeron Road, Sardis, Georgia entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 21, 2005 at University Hospital in Augusta. Mr. Howard was born on October 20, 1939 in Richmond County, a son of the late Emmett William Howard and Opal Mae Key Howard. He had lived most of his life in Sardis where he was a former meat cutter at Buxton's Supermarket, was of the Baptist faith and a veteran of the United States Navy. Survivors include his wife Mary Howard of Sardis; children-Joy Royal and husband Cleve of Sardis, Roger (Bubba) Howard of Sardis, Don Howard and wife Judy of Martinez, Sandy Walden and husband Randy of Louisville, Steven Howard and wife Rhonda of Millen, Jeremy Howard of Sardis, and Brandon Howard and wife Denise of Sylvania; 19 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and several cousins. Graveside memorial services with inurnment to follow, will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at 2:00 PM in the Westview Cemetery in Augusta with Rev. Younce Lively and Rev. Randy Walden officiating. The procession will leave the Hephzibah Chapel of the DeLoach-Kennedy Funeral Home at 1:15 PM on Tuesday. All family and friends attending the service are asked to assemble at the funeral home prior to 1:00 PM. Flowers will be accepted.
