Obituary of Emilio Silva

SILVA, Emilio, 71 of Tampa passed away on May 7, 2004. Emilio was a Sergeant in The Policia Nacional de Cuba and served as personal body guard to Gonzalo Garcia Pedrozo, the superintendent of Lottery in Cuba. In 1959 Emiio moved to Tampa and became a naturalized U.S. citizen. He was employed by the Wonderbread Company and was a member of I.T.T. Continental Bakers Local 361. He retired in the early 90's as a Master Mixer. Emilio is survived by his former wife, companion, and best friend, Nellie P. Silva. He leaves behind his loving son, Jose M. Silva and wife Nancy; sister, Esperanza Lorenso and husband Francisco; and his two beloved grandchildren, Rachel and Erick Silva. The family will receive friends on May 11, 2004 at 6-9 p.m. at the Gonzalez Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on May 12, 2004 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of the Gonzalez Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Flowers accepted or donations to St. Joseph's Hospital Nursing Scholarship Program i n his name.
