Obituary of Elizabeth Owens

Elizabeth Ann Stephens Owens, 71, of Central, after a courageous battle with cancer, won the victory on June 18, 2010, when she was called home to be with the Lord. She was born on January 29, 1939 to Rester and Emma Stephens of Clemson. She was a member of the the Clemson-Central Chamber of Commerce, the League of Women Voters, the Red Hatters and was of the Baptist faith. She loved the Lord, her family, friends and town. She was an active citizen and community volunteer. Surviving are two daughters, Lisa Carpenter and husband Danny of Liberty and Tracy Morgan and husband, Stewart of Central; brother, David Stephens of Greenville; two sisters, Jane Owens of Pendleton and Anita Moore of Effingham; five nieces; and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, R.L. and John Stephens. Funeral services will be held at 4 PM, Monday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central with Rev. Rick Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Central. Visitation will be from 2:30 to 3:45 PM, Monday prior to the service at the funeral home.
