Elizabeth A. Wyman, 87 FALMOUTH -- Elizabeth Alice Payne Newton Wyman, 87, formerly of Norway, passed away Saturday afternoon at Fallbrook Woods Assisted Living where she had been a resident for the last two years. Betty, as she was known to family and friends, was born in Needham, Mass., on Aug. 22, 1924. A graduate of Newton Wellesley Hospital School of Nursing, she served as an Army nurse at Camp Edwards where she met her husband James as he was recovering from wounds suffered in Dijon, France in April 1945. Active in Norway's Second Congregational Church, Betty also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and embroidery. An avid reader, she also enjoyed belonging to the Barton Reading Club. Betty is survived by her daughter, Sandra of Machesney Park, Ill., married to Robert Ciccone, their children Todd, Jennifer and Brian and grandchild, Neiko; her son, Bruce of Falmouth, married to Janice de Lima, and their children Benjamin and Daria; and her daughter Sally of Old Orchard Beach. Betty was predeceased by her husband James Sr. in 1995; and her eldest son, James in 2009. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Dec. 2, at 10 a.m., at the Norway Second Congregational Church.
