INMAN, SC-- Elizabeth Ailene Owens, 94, died May 20, 2006 at Golden Age Nursing Home in Inman.A native of Polk County, North Carolina, daughter of the late William Jackson and Eliza Jane Blackwell Owens, she was a retired textile employee, a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir and the Ladies Sunday School Class teacher, and served as church training director. Miss Owens was also an adult literacy instructor. She was valedictorian of her high school graduating class.Surviving are two brothers, Clyde Owens of Spartanburg and Marshall Owens of Boiling Springs; and two sisters, Dot Ballew of Columbia and Thursey Gregg of Wellford.She was predeceased by five brothers and three sisters.Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday at Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by Dr. Tim Clark and Jennings Dill.The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.Memorials may be made to Holly Springs Baptist Church Building Fund, 251 Hannon Road, Inman, S.C. 29349.The families are at their respective homes.The Wood Mortuary, Inc.Paid Funeral Notice
