CHAPMAN _ Edna May (nee Morgan) of Surrey, British Columbia, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2005 after a brief illness. Morgan, as she liked to be called, was born on January 25, 1923 in Porthcawl, South Wales. Morgan married during the war and came to Canada with her husband Charles to assist in the training of Canadian Personnel. When the war ended, they returned to England for a short time before immigrating back to Canada. They made their life together in Alberta and British Columbia where Morgan was a very devoted wife to Charles, and loving mother to her two children Pat and Bob. Morgan loved singing and dancing and in later life she loved nothing more than listening to the tapes of Charles's songs, Tom Jones singing about the Green Green Grass of Home or watching videos of Ginger and Fred or Al Jolson. She lived for her Wednesday visits to McDonalds to see the gang and have a coffee and buy her scratch and loses. The assistance of Morgan's friend Doreen Hutchinson in helping her on these outings is gratefully acknowledged and she would wish to be remembered as having a soft spot in her heart for her brother Ken. Morgan was predeceased by her husband of 58 years and leaves behind her daughter Patricia of Langley and her son Robert (Claire) of Calgary. Visitation will be held at the Avalon Surrey Funeral Home, 13288 - 108 Ave., Surrey, British Columbia on Friday, November 4, between the hours of 2:00 and 4:00 pm and again between 7:00 and 9:00 pm. Condolences may be offered at www.surrey-funeral.ca
