Obituary of Dorothy Parsons

She was born March 11, 1930, in Morgan County to Lemme Rivers Turney and Susan Opal Sterling Turney. She attended Gum Springs Baptist Church where she was very active in the Mary Martha Class. She always wanted to be sure that everyone had something to eat, because she loved to cook.She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Rex, Virgil and Bobby and sisters: Nell, Vivian, Johnnie, Hazel and Dean. Survivors include her husband, Richard Parsons of Falkville, AL; son, Sterling Lewis Parsons (Linda) of Madison, AL; two brothers, Fletcher Turney (Patricia), Athens, AL and Ray Turney (Rhonda), Cookeville, TN; sister, Mildred McNutt, Hartselle, AL; grandchild, Carla Browning; great-grandchild Kaelyn; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Dorothy Turney Parsons, will be Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Anthony Patterson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be Deacons: Jimmy Maze, Norman Grant, Wayne Looney, Bobby Ashley, Dale Maples,and Mike Winton. Burial will be in Cook Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Arrangements by Peck Funeral Home, 1600 Hwy 31 SW, P.O.
