Obituary of Dorothy Cook

Dorothy Cook died December 8, 2005 at the Temiskaming Hospital. She was born November 5, 1922 to Annie (Jarvis) and Hugh Cook. She lived in Kerns Township (McCool) since birth and in July, 1940 she married Frances John Newton. Mrs. Newton was predeceased by her youngest daughter, Shirley, in May of 1961; her husband Frank in April, 1974; her brothers Don, Robbie, Edgar and Andrew Cook; sisters Annie (Ed Wadge) and Ruth (Ted Drinkill). She is survived by her children Ann (Doug Miller), George (Gail), Audrey (Fraser Jibb), daughter-in-law Grace Newton (Don) and her youngest sister Alice (Cook) Cameron who lives in British Columbia; grandchildren Marie (Peter) Tuinema, Richard Miller (Jessica), Jo-anne (Martin) Peters, Dennis Jibb (Kerry), Darren (Kim) Jibb, Nancy (Andy) Newton and Gwen (Kevin) Schuurman; great-grandchildren Kyle, John, Brian and Mark Tuinema, Evan and Justin Miller, Katie and Gerald Peters, Chelsea and Shawn Jibb, Tanner, Brianna, Taylor and Chelsea Schuurman; and great-great-grandson Gavin Tuinema; and many caring nieces, nephews, special friends and neighbours. In accordance with Mrs. Newton’s wishes, a private service was held December 10. Interment will be at the New Liskeard Cemetery.
