Dennis M. Shaw May 8, 1947 - November 7, 2010 Moosup - Dennis M. Shaw of Westbrook died on November 7th, at Middlesex Hospital. He was born on May 8, 1947, in Moosup the son of Edgar J. Shaw and Beatrice Graveline Shaw. Mr. Shaw graduated from Ellis Tech 1966 where he was athlete of the year and valedictorian. He then attended Thames Valley Institute and after he went into the United States Navy. During the Vietnam War, he was stationed on the USS Pintada out of San Diego, he was later stationed on the USS Gelnarad P. Lipscom out of Groton. Mr. Shaw was an instructor in the Groton and Honolulu sub bases and he left as Chief. Mr. Shaw is survived by his wife Janice (Nicolucci) Shaw, His daughter Tara Stone of Tennessee; his Grandson Devon Vesto of Vila grove Illinois, and Granddaughter Riley-Ray of Tennessee; his sister Joyce King and his brother in Law Lenny King. He also has one niece and nephew Jason and Jill. He also had two sons Christopher, and wife Michele, and Jonathan Sanzaro, and wife Patricia. He also had several grandchildren, Christopher, Mikael, Tabatha, Anthony, Samantha, Barbara, Luca. He was employed by Lewmare Marine Inc, Guilford A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on November 18th at 11 A.M. in St. Mark Church, 222 McVeagh Rd., Westbrook, CT. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous.
