Obituary of Dennis-Edward Blanchfield


BLANCHFIELD - Dennis Edward, age 63, died peacefully at his home on Friday, November 11, 2005. Born in Norfolk, VA, he grew up in Washington, NJ in Warren County and then lived in the greater Hartford, CT area until moving to Sparta four years ago. Dennis worked in information systems at Pratt and Whitney Aircrafts in East Hartford, CT for over 35 years until retiring in 1999. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake R.C. Church of Sparta. He is survived by his beloved wife Helene "Lee" (nee Smith) to whom he was married for 41 wonderful years, his two daughters; Karen White and her husband Christopher of Basking Ridge and Elizabeth King and her husband David of Hudson, OH, and his five grandchildren; Grace and Alice King and Katherine, John and William White. He is also survived by his two brothers; Herbert W. of Ringwood and Michael and his wife Carol of Franklin Lakes and their daughter Theodora. He was predeceased by his daughter Jennifer and his parents Herbert and Virginia Blanchfield. A funeral mass celebrating Dennis' life will take place on Monday, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth's RC Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. Interment will follow at Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the School Library at St. Elizabeth's RC Church 700 Wyckoff Ave. Wyckoff, or to Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice 99 Sparta Ave. Newton, NJ 07860, would be appreciated.
