LOWELL - Daniel J. King, 92, a longtime resident of the Belvidere section, died Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 12, at Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell.He was born in Fitchburg on July 6, 1910, a son of the late Daniel J. and Mary A. (Walsh) King, Sr. The family moved to Lowell and settled in the Belvidere section when he was four. He graduated from the Immaculate Conception Grammar School and Lowell High School, and earned his bachelor's degree in chemistry from the Lowell Textile Institute (now University Massachusetts at Lowell) in 1932.Mr. King worked at the American Hide and Leather Co. for 21 years, and at various leather companies through the Northeast and Ontario, Canada. He retired from the Stockhausen Chemical Co. of Krefeld, West Germany and Greensboro, N.C.He was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church.Survivors include three nieces, Elaine Coppinger and Karen Fenton, both of Taunton, and Mary Gail Houde of Manchester, Conn.; a nephew, Joseph D. McCusker of Middleboro; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.He was the brother of the late Theresa McCusker and Catherine, George and Frank King.
