Obituary of Charles-W. Paine

NEW HAVEN - Charles William "Bill" Paine, 78, died Feb. 5, 2014. He worked as a radio broadcaster and in several other capacities for the Department of Agriculture. He enjoyed the family cabin in New Haven, chopping wood, and maintaining the family homestead. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Rae; four children, Chris Paine, of Bristol, Sheri Guthrie, of Palm Coast, Fla., Bill Paine, of Plainfield, and Amy Paine, of New Haven; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and siblings Carolyn Paine and Peggy Underwood. He was predeceased by one grandson. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 1 p.m. at the Bristol Federated Church.
