Obituary of Charles Vaughans

<!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Vaughans, Sr., Mr. Charles Woodrow "Mr. C" of Montgomery, AL entered into eternal rest December 30, 2013. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 5, 2014 at 1:00 PM from St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Burdis Williams, officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Serenity Gardens. Mr. Vaughans will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Charles was preceded in death by his mother, his brothers, his sister, and his son, Anthony Leonard Vaughans, Sr. (Jerri). He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Gertie Mae; his devoted daughter, Christine Vaughans Stoutermire (Maurice) of Montevallo, Alabama; and seven sons, Charles Woodrow Vaughans, Jr. (Bennita), Alvin Carl Vaughans (Debra) of Groston, Maryland, Herman Cedric Vaughans, Sr. (Doris), Rodney Orlando Vaughans, Sr. (Erma), Lorenzo Adrian Vaughans (Wanda), Willie Pitman Vaughans (Carol) and Eddie James Vaughans (Margaret), all of Montgomery, Alabama. He also leaves to cherish his memories 22 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, a devoted niece, Erma Jean White (Jeff) and two loving sister-in-laws, Evora (Honey) Taylor and Catherine Gregory; two devoted friends, Harvey Harris and Jimmie Calhoun. The family would like to extend many thanks to the Central Alabama Veterans Healthcare System, Montgomery Hospice, and Dr. Norman Taylor.
