Obituary of Charles-H. Curran


Charles H. CurranÉ 50-year Chelmsford resident, WWII Army veteran; 81 CHELMSFORD - Charles H. Curran, 81, a World War II veteran and Lowell native who was a Chelmsford resident for five decades, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following a brief illness. He was married to Grace E. Curran for 56 years, who died May 30. He was born in Lowell on Oct. 20, 1921, a son of the late Charles and Anna E. Curran, and was was also the stepson of Henrietta Curran. He attended Lowell schools and graduated from Lowell High School and Bentley College. Mr. Curran served in the Army during World War II. Prior to his retirement, he was a bureau chief for state's the Department of Revenue. He also worked at D.J. Reardon Co. for many years. He is survived by three sons, James M. and his wife Gail (Richardson) Curran of Groton, Charles and his wife Diane (Kauffman) Curran of Chelmsford, and Robert J. Curran of Lowell; six grandchildren, Bridget O. Bevere and her husband Shaun, residing in Maryland, Sean Curran and Barbara Curran of Groton, Charles R. Curran, Jill K. Curran and Timothy D. Curran, all of Chelmsford; several nieces and nephews; and a sister, S. Rita Ann Curran, SCH of Wellesley. He was also the brother of the late Leo Curran, Loretta Alberghene, and Joseph Curran.
