Charles F. Spicer of Conklin Charles F. Spicer, 74, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2008. He was predeceased by his wife, Marie; and his parents, Leon and Helen Spicer. Charles is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David C. and Diana M. Spicer, Binghamton; brothers-in-law, James and Beulah Robinson, Elysburg, Pa., Calvin and Thelma Gaylord, Reading, Pa.; and niece, Gayle Waters, Marion, Md. Charles attended Newark Valley High School and graduated from Broome Tech. He worked as a mechanical engineer throughout the northeast area for most of his career. He was a longtime member and elder of Ross Memorial Presbyterian Church. He was a past president of the Conklin Community Corporation which ran and organized the annual Conklin Fair. Charles was leader of the Senior Girl Scout Troop of Susquehanna Valley High School for many years and he was also a member of Vestal - Otseninego Lodge F & AM #435 and Scottish Rite Bodies of the Valley of Binghamton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 2, 2008, at the DeMunn Funeral Home, 36 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton, with the Reverends Ronald B. Thomas and Jose Valencia officiating. Interment will follow in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Family will receive friends 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 1, 2008, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Charles' name may be made to Ross Memorial Presbyterian Church, 6 Morris Street, Binghamton, New York 13903.
