Obituary of Charles Boyer

Boyer, Charles R.Charles Robert Boyer, age 77, of New Milford, CT died at home on Thursday November 6, 2014.Mr. Boyer was born April 11, 1937 in Montrose, NY a son of the late John Jacob and Pauline (Ferris) Boyer. He was a 1955 graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School, Fairfield, CT and attended the University of Bridgeport. Mr. Boyer served in the U.S. Army from 1959-1965 including two years with the 3rd Armor Division, 1960-1962. He was employed by Kimberly Clark Manufacturing for 38 years before retiring in 1996. Mr. Boyer also served on the Board of Directors for the Kimberly Clark Employees Credit Union from 1974-2004. An active member of St John's Episcopal Church in New Milford, serving as Lector, Usher and on the Vestry Board for many years. Mr. Boyer was an avid gardener and loved to travel having visited 49 of 50 states (2011) and 21 countries. He has been a resident of New Milford since 1977.Mr. Boyer is survived by his sister Carolyn A. Johnsen of Elmhurst IL, nephew Glenn S. Johnsen of Elmhurst, niece Gloria Hope of Oklahoma City, OK, six grand nieces and nephews; Rylan, Johanna, Clara, Sarah, Brianna and Jacob.The funeral service will be held in St John's Episcopal Church on Wednesday November 12, 2014 at 11 am. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Bethel, CT. The family will receive friends at the Colonial Funeral Home 87 Park Lane Rd, New Milford, Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 pm.
