Obituary of Carolyn-Doris Hancock

HANCOCK, CAROLYN DORIS, 81, of Louisville, died Sunday, March 11, 2007 at Meadowview Health & Rehabilitation. The widow of Robert Arthur Hancock, she was the former Carolyn Doris Reid. Doris was a member of Broadway Baptist Church and a former member of Highland Baptist Church. She was a graduate of the University of Louisville where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. She was past president of the Pi Beta Phi Alumni Club, past president of the Younger Woman's Club of Louisville, past president of The Fillies Club and a member of the Woman's Club of Louisville. Doris was a retired Realtor Broker with the former Bass & Weisberg Realtors and was the Brownsboro Road sales manager for 22 years. Most important to Doris was her love of family. Dee-Dee, we will always love and miss you. Surviving are her three sons, Robert A. Hancock Jr. (Marcie), James R. Hancock (Donna), and Thomas H. Hancock (Robin); eight granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Broadway Baptist Church, 4000 Brownsboro Road, with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Pearson's, 149 Breckenridge Lane. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Bereavement Committee of Broadway Baptist Church or Hospice of Louisville.
