CAROL MARIEANDREW, 78Secretary/Bookkeeper WINTER HAVEN - Carol Marie nee Brilliant Andrew, 78, of Winter Haven -- beloved wife of Bill Andrew -- went to her heavenly reward with our Lord, Jesus Christ, on Monday, June 9, 2008, at her Winter Haven home ending her 14-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. Carol was brought into this world by her parents, Arthur and Lucy Brilliant, on November 14, 1929, in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, where she spent most of her young life. A 1948 graduate of Lincoln High School in Manitowoc, she married William Bill F. Andrew on August 22, 1951, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Their almost 57 years of happily married life started with a chance meeting at a dance in Manitowoc -- you might call it "love at first sight." Moving to Florida in November, 1960, Carol became a homemaker for her husband and two young sons. She was active in the Blessed Sacrament Circle at St. Joseph Catholic Church for many years. When Bill started his consulting practice, Carol became his secretary/bookkeeper and traveled with him when she could in later years. After the initial diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease, Bill became Carol's 24/7 family caregiver during this 14-year journey -- their motto became "loving is giving... giving is loving." Carol was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Bill Andrew; sons, Glenn Marie Andrew of Colchester, CT, and Neil Cynthia Andrew of Ocean Springs, MS; one grandson, Stephen Andrew of Ocean Springs, MS; one brother, Arthur Mary Doris Brilliant of Villa Park, IL; and three sisters, Betty Esser of Milwaukee, WI, Priscilla Earl Schroeder of DePere, WI, and Yvonne Brilliant of Milwaukee, WI. Visitation will be at Crisp-Coon Funeral Home, Winter Haven, on Friday, June 13, 2008, from 5 00-8 00pm with a Catholic vigil service at 7 00pm with Father Anthony Bluett officiating. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Winter Haven, at 11 00am on Saturday, June 14, 2008, with Father Peter Puntal officiating. At a later date, a Catholic memorial service will take place in Manitowoc, WI, with internment at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc, WI. Memorials maybe made to the Alzheimer's Association or Good Shepherd Hospice. "Loving is giving... giving is loving."
