Obituary of Catherine O-Malley

Catherine (Kay) O'Malley passed away on January 26, 2007 at White Plains Hospital. She was born in New York on July 1, 1927 to Patrick Joseph and Mary Killeen Horan. Catherine was a Nanuet resident for five years and a New City resident for thirty-three years. She married Charles T. O'Malley who predeceased her in 1978. She graduated St. Mary's School of Nursing. She worked at Northern Manor Nursing Home in Nanuet, NY for ten years as an LPN. Catherine was a member of Clarkstown Seniors, St. Anthony's Church and Senior's group, and a past member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, New City, NY. Catherine will be remembered as a kind and loving person who will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her four children: Cathy O'Malley of Plainfield, NJ; Anne O'Malley-Fox of Nanuet, NY; Patricia (Frank) Bonanno of Congers, NY; and Carol (Keith) Rifflard of West Haverstraw, NY; and her five grandchildren: Alex and Laura Bonanno, Christina Fox, Melissa O'Malley, and Dylan Rifflard. She was predeceased by her brothers and sister Martin and Joseph Horan and Mary Yurasits. Visiting will be Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home, New City, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday 11 a.m. at St. Anthony's Shrine, Nanuet, NY. Burial will follow at Gary Onderdunk Cemetery, Viola, NY. MICHAEL J. HIGGINS FUNERAL HOME 321 So.
