MACKAY, Bruce Sinclair1927 – 2014Bruce passed away peacefully on November 26, 2014 at the age of 87. Born in Winnipeg, the only child of Sinclair and Kate (Montgomery). He grew up in West Vancouver and attended UBC graduating with a degree in Physics. He worked in the pulp and paper business, where he enjoyed a long career that took him and his family across Canada to the Gaspe, Quebec. He loved the years in Quebec with Martha and his family and made many lifelong friends. After he retired Bruce loved to travel and especially enjoyed his trips to Montreal and Turkey. Wherever he went he made friends and endeared many with his kindness and generosity. Bruce was a scientist with a passion for astronomy and was always keen to share his knowledge of the wonders of the universe. He is predeceased by his loving wife Martha (Jensen) and survived by his children Leslie (Ron), Mark, Catherine (Martin), Maria (Brock) and Carol (Mike) and his grandchildren Rachel, David, Jared, Emma, James, Anna, Ryan, Shaelin, Jessica, Jake and Claire. At peace now and with Martha we will remember him for his honesty, integrity and wonderful sense of humour. We will miss you Dad! A Celebration for Bruce will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Parkgate Community Centre, 3625 Banff Court, North Vancouver, BC. In lieu of flowers donations to the Martha Mackay Memorial Bursary at Capilano University would be appreciated.
