Obituary of Betty-Jean Silva

Mrs. Betty Jean Silva, 77, Republic, passed away at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2008, in her home, surrounded by her family. She was born July 21, 1930, in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of George Richard and Sara Jane (Lane) Trueman. She was united in marriage to David Silva on October 2, 1948. They made their home and raised their family in Manteca, California, before moving to Republic, Missouri, in 1991. Mrs. Silva was a member of the American Legion #676 Auxiliary and was active in the community. She enjoyed visiting with people and working outside in her yard. She was preceded in death by her husband, David, July 24, 2003; a daughter, Michelle; and her parents. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, David and Lora Silva, Dayton, Nevada, Cherlyn "Chickie" and Dennis Canright, Bois D'Arc, Missouri, and Vicki and Mike West, Lodi, California; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008, in Meadors Funeral Home, Republic, Missouri, with Rev. Steve Ward officiating.
