Obituary of Armand Descoteaux

ALLENSTOWN -- Armand &quot;Jim&quot; Descoteaux, 77, a lifelong Allenstown resident, died Nov. 7, 2009, at CRVNA Hospice House in Concord after a lengthy illness. She was born in Manchester on Aug. 3, 1932, to Louis and Alice (Robert) Descoteaux. He was a Navy veteran and served during the Korean War. He retired from Blue Cross - Blue Shield after more than 20 years in the maintenance department and had previously worked as a barber in Concord for 13 years. He was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church and a member of the St. Therese Rosebush Society. He enjoyed gardening, but especially loved antiquing and bargain hunting at flea markets. IN HIS LIFE: Members of his family include six siblings, Germaine Pouliot and Paul Descoteaux of Concord, Claire Richard and her husband Bernard, Raymond Descoteaux, and Theresa Gagnon and her husband Robert, all of Allenstown, and Robert Descoteaux of Phoenix, Ariz.; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Romeo, Leo, and Henry. SERVICES: Calling hours are today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Petit Funeral Home, 167 Main St., Pembroke, where members of the St. Therese Rosebush Society will hold a prayer service at 5:15. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church with burial following in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
