Obituary of Anne-Schaut Whelan

Anne Schaut Whelan, 92, of Bradenton, passed away on February 25, 2014. She was born in Kinston, North Carolina and moved to Bradenton as a child where she graduated from Bradenton High School. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She married David P. Whelan and they relocated to Newton, MA where she lived until 1982 when she returned to Bradenton in retirement. Anne was active in charitable organizations in Bradenton and served on the Board of Directors at Manatee Children's Services. She was a supporter of the Salvation Army and was a lifetime member of Entre Nous. She was predeceased by her brother, John W. Schaut in addition to her husband. She is survived by her son, John D. (Stephanie) and her grandchildren, Mark, Emily and Ava; niece, Ann Leonard of Bradenton and nephew, Joe Schaut of Athens, Georgia. A private service will be held to celebrate her life.
