Anne Margaret Laanes Duchesneau, 75 PORTLAND -- Anne Margaret Laanes Duchesneau, a resident of the Barron Center in Portland, died after a long illness on May 5, 2009, at the age of 75. She was the daughter of Theophil and Alice Gould Laanes born on March 10, 1934, in Huntington, N.Y. She graduated the Rhode Island School of Design in 1956. In 1958 she married Robert E. Duchesneau Jr., a Navy officer. They divorced in 1979. She was the devoted mother of Robert Edward Duchesneau III and John Theophil Duchesneau. She is also survived by her brother Carl G. Laanes. Her interests included art, fashion, horticulture, ornithology and literature. She struggled with physical and mental illness for most of her life but found peace and joy in her later years through her Christian faith. A memorial service will be held at the Barron Center on Brighton Avenue, Portland on Monday, May 11, at 1 p.m.
