Wallace, Anna MECHANICVILLE Anna D'Ambro Wallace, 89, of Chestnut St., died Thursday afternoon, December 10, 2009 at her home. A native and lifelong Mechanic-ville resident, born September 21, 1920, daughter of the late Louis and Maria Piccelli D'Ambro, and widow of Edmund F. Wallace, who died June 8, 1994. Anna was a machine operator for the former Korell Dress Co. in Mechanicville for many years. A communicant of the Assumption-St. Paul Church in Mechanicville, Anna enjoyed knitting and cooking, especially for her family and friends. Survivors include three children: retired Mechanicville Police Dept. Chief of Police John J. (Fil) Wallace of Mechanicville, Marion (Richard) Sarle of Skillman, N.J. and Edmund F. (Karen) Wallace Jr. of East Greenbush; also seven grandchildren, Debbie (John) Stewart of Mechanicville, Kim (Ed Russo) Wallace of Amsterdam, Richard (Maureen) Sarle of Detroit, Rob (Melissa) Sarle of N.C., Edmund F. Wallace III, Eric and Evan Wallace, all of East Greenbush; great-grandchildren, Amanda (Nick) VanDetta, Sean Stewart and Robbie Sarle and a sister, Genna Welch of Mechanic-ville, along with a number of nieces and nephews. Anna was also predeceased by sisters, Mary Esposito and Connie Piccirillo and brothers, Louis, Michael and John D'Ambro. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 9 a.m. at the Assumption-St. Paul No. Main St. Church, with entombment in St. Paul's Mausoleum. Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville on Sunday from 3-6 p.m. Remembrances may be made to Community Hospice of Saratoga in loving memory of Anna F. Wallace.
