Albert Grant Reid, age 72, of Pembroke, formerly of Abington, passed away Feb. 11, following a period of failing health. He was raised in Abington and graduated from Abington High School, Class of 1959. After high school, Al served in the U.S. Navy on the aircraft carriers USS Tarawa and the USS Wasp. Al took pleasure in working most of his life as a milkman, first for Ridder Farms and then H.P. Hood, Inc. During his retirement years, he especially enjoyed his family and fishing with his brother Curt in their secret fishing hole. Son of the late Albert C. and Dorothy (Grant) Reid, Albert leaves four loving children, Charles A. Reid and William G. Reid, both of Abington, and Robert C. Reid and Sandra L. Adamopoulos, both of Pembroke. He was the brother of Janet Pomerleau of Buckfield, Maine, and Curtis Reid of Abington. He also is survived by five loving granddaughters, Amanda, Alicia, Kimberly and Megan Reid and Harley Adamopoulos. In addition, Albert leaves several nieces and nephews; and an uncle, Merton Grant of Meredith, N.H. A graveside service will be private. Donations may be made in his memory to The Veterans Fund in care of Joseph Colantoni, Abingtons Veteran Agent, Abington Town Hall, 500 Gliniewicz Way, Abington, MA 02351.
