Obituary of Antoinette Abrams


Antoinette M. Toni (Scerra) Abrams, 82, died Friday October 17, 2014 after a long period of failing health. She was the wife of George Abrams who died in 1972. They were married for 27 years. She was born in Marlborough, the daughter of the late Dominic and Mary (Grasso) Scerra and lived here all of her life. In her younger years Toni worked for the former New England Telephone and later went on to work for the former Data General as an assembler and later as an inspector. She was a long time member of the former St. Ann Parish, where she was involved with Holy Rosary Sodality and the Third Order of Franciscans. She was also a former member of St. Bernadettes Church in Northborough and was currently a member of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Marlborough. Toni was a true lover of animals, but her greatest love was her large immediate and extended family. She is survived by one son Barry Abrams of Marlborough, one sister Frances Hudson and her husband Gerry of Marlborough, a sister in law Mary Scerra and many other extended family members. She was predeceased by a brother Louis Scerra Sr.. Her funeral will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 472 Lincoln St. Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery Marlborough. Visiting hours at the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home (www.shortfuneral.com), 95 West Main St. Marlborough, will be held on Thursday evening from 5-8 p.m. Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 472 Lincoln St. Marlborough MA 01752.
