Pierre Rocan-Laville was born about 1676 in St Barthelemy, Le-Bois-Plage-en-Re, Charente-Maritime, France. Son of Jacques and Marie Baudart -Boudart, he married Marie-Louise Egron-Lamothe, daughter of Pierre and Madeleine Doucet, November 10, 1709 in Montreal. From this union were born four children. His wife died in 1715, so he married Françoise Dufault, daughter of Gilles et Françoise Simon, on April 26, 1717 in Montreal. From this union were born 11 children.
