Louis Brien Desroches was baptized on April 24, 1646 in La Chapelle-Caro, Morbihan, France. Son of Julien Brien, a bourgeois, and Jeanne Liou-Guilloux, he married Suzanne Bouvier, daughter of Michel and Mathurine Desbordes, on April 16, 1681 in Montreal. From this union were born 13 children. He was a tailor when he came here in 1681. He settled in Ile Ste-Thérèse. In order to pay his multiples debts, he turned to farming. He died on August 17, 1708 in Ile Ste-Therese and was buried in Varennes the next day.
