Denis Jourdain-labrosse was born circa 1671 in La Rochelle, Charente-Maritime, France. Son of Paul Jourdain and Marie Leblanc, he married Madeleine Fagot, daughter of Guillaume and Marie Coipel, on November 6, 1696 in Montreal. From this union were born 8 children. He settled in Montreal and, in 1728, help one of his son to build and alterpiece for the Congrégation des hommes' chapel. He died on April 6, 1743 in Montreal and was buried the next day.

Guillaume Jourdain was baptized on December 7, 1651 in Arçais, Deux-Sèvres, France. Son of Hilaire and Anne Bétreau, he married Jeanne Constantin, daughter of Guillaume and Jeanne Massé, on April 18, 1678 in Quebec. They had 11 children. He came to New France in 1675 and was hired by the Séminaire de Québec as a mason. He was confirmed in Quebec in 1681. He had carried throught numerous masonry works in Quebec City, especially the ones for the monastère des Ursulines in 1686. Starting in 1695 he combined his skills in masonry with his new trade as a merchant. He died on February 19, 1724 in Pointe-de-Lévy and was buried in the church on February 21, 1724.
