Pioneers of the Jamme-Carriere family

Pierre Jamme-Carrière was born around 1662 in Lantheuil, Calvados in France. Son of Jean and Charlotte Husse, he married Marie-Madeleine Barbary-Grandmaison, daughter of Pierre and Marie Lebrun,on February 21, 1689 in Lachine. From this union were born 6 children. He arrived as a soldier in the company of Sieur Du Cruzel. He settled in Lachine. Having some education (he knew how to sign) he is appointed guardian of the minor children of his parents-in-law. The children were captured by the Iroquois. He died on November 22, 1740 and was buried the next day in Pointe-Claire at the age of 78.
