Pioneers of the Boudrot family

Michel Boudrot-Boudreau: born circa 1600 perhaps near La Rochelle in France. He lived in Port-Royal in 1639. He married Michelle Aucoin circa 1641. Together they had 11 children. Michel was a plowman, a syndic (community representative) and a lieutenant general of justice (magistrate). In 1671, he owned 20 heads of cattle, 12 sheeps and 8 acres. In 1678, he owned 10 heads of cattle, 12 acres and 3 guns. In 1686, he owned 16 heads of cattle, 17 sheeps, 6 pigs, 20 acres and 3 guns. Several of the Boudreau children became the founders of Grand-Pré, Beaubassin, Pisiquid, Cobequid and other villages on the tidal marshes of the Bay of Fundy. Michel died between 1688 and 1693 in Port Royal.
